Bogolyubov Aleksei Petrovich

Bogolyubov Aleksei Petrovich (1824, the Novgorod province - 1896, Paris).

Academician and professor. The grandson of A.N. Radischev. During 1850-1853 studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under M.N. Vorobev and B.P. Villevalde. The pensioner of the Academy of Arts (1854-60), worked in the studios of A.Kalam in Geneva, E.Izabe in Paris and A.Ahenbah in Dusseldorf. Since 1873 mostly lived in France. In the beginning of his creative development was much influenced by I.K. Ayvazovsky. Member of the Association of Itinerant Exhibitions (since 1873). The founder of the Art museum named after A.N. Radischev (opened in 1885) and the Drawing school (opened in 1897) in Saratov. Works of the artist are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and many other museum collections of Russia.
