Volkov Aleksandr Nikolaevich (1886, Uzbekistan - 1957, Tashkent).

Painter. One of the founders of modern art in the Central Asia. Studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1908-1910) under V.E.Makovsky and Kiev Art School (1912-1916) under F.G.Krichevsky. Lived in Tashkent. In 1927-1930 was a member of local association Masters of the New East. His works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Eastern Arts.
