Gippius Natalya Alexandrovna

Painter, graphic artist. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR (1937). Niece of Zinaida Gippius, the well-known poetess of the Silver Age. Her first teacher was her father, the artist A.V. Gippius. Then she studied in the Perm Arts School under I.N. Vrochensky and A.S. Shestakov (1924-1928), in VHUTEIN (The Higher Artistic and Technical Institute) under L.A. Bruni, K.N. Istomin, D.S. Mor, M.S. Rodionov, N.А. Udaltsova and F. Favorsky (1928 – 1936). Since 1931 she became a permanent participant of exhibitions. Together with K.M. Lekomtsev she worked on the setting of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition. Works by N. Gippius were exhibited at foreign exhibitions in Berlin (1967) and Warsaw (1967). Her personal exhibition was held in Moscow in 1972.
