Istomin Konstantin Nikolaevich

Istomin Konstantin Nikolaevich (1887, Kursk – 1942, Samarkand).

During 1906-1909 studied at painting school of Sh. Hollosy in Munich. During 1920-ies was a member of art associations “Makovets” and “Four Arts”. Taught in VKHUTEMAS-VKHUTEIN (1923-1930). In 1926 he became a professor of arts and the principal of art faculty. During 1930-1939 gave lessons in Polygraphic Institute, then in Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov (during evacuation – in Samarkand, 1941-1942). His works can be found in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and other museum collections of Russia.
