Kallima Aleksei Viktorovich (1969, Grozny).
Contemporary Russian artist. From 1984 to 1989 he studied at the painting department of the Krasnodar Art School. In 1991–1994 he taught at the Grozny art school. In the early 2000s he worked in the genre of action, performance, installation, then returned to painting. From 2001 to 2006 he was the curator of the self-organized gallery “France”.
In 1995 and 2009 he took part in the Venice Biennale, and in 2005, 2007 and 2011 - in special projects of the I, II and IV Moscow Biennale.
In 2005, he received the Innovation Award in the category “Best Work of Visual Art” for his work “Terek - Chelsea”.
The artist’s works are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, as well as in museums and galleries in Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, the USA and other countries.
