Kruglickova Elizaveta Sergeyevna (1865, Petersburg – 1941, Leningrad).

Russian artists, master of engraving and silhouette. Since 1890 attenede the Academy of Arts as an external student. Since 1895 lived in Paris. Attended the studios of A. Vitti and F. Kolarossi. Was fond of different techniques of printed engraving. Organizaed own school-studio, where studied M.A. Voloshin, M.A. Dobrov, I.S. Yefimov, N. Y. Simonovich-Yefimova, etc. Since 1916 lived and worked in Petrograd. Was the professor of the etching chair (and then the chief of the etching cabinet) in the Higher State Art and Technical Institute. Was an active participant in the exhibitions “World of Art” and “Union of Russian Artists”. Became famous for her silhouettes, cut out of black paper. She revived conceptions of silhouettes as a full kind of the Art. Worked as scene-designer, was one of the organizers (1919), as well as the illustrator of the State Theatre of marionettes. Personal exhibition of E.S. Kruglickova were held in Paris (1902, 1905, 1907), Saint-Petersburg (1913), Kazan (1925), Leningrad (1935 in the State Russian Museum, 1940, 1962, 1967 in the State Russian Museum), Moscow (1945, 1962). The works of the artist are exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, in large regional museums, in private collections in Russia and abroad.
