Levi Vasilii Filippovich

Levi Vasilii Filippovich (1878-1954).

A painter. Born in Kharkov city. During 1900-1901 participated in Kharkov artists’ clubs. Mostly painted academical landscapes and later - still life. Obtained legal education and worked as a juror in a court of justice in Saint-Petersburg district. From 1916 committed to Arts. Was an authorized representative and a secretary of well-known artist I. Repin, as well as arranger and co-member of I. Repin’s exhibitions (1919-1930). During 1930-1939 active in Paris. In 1930 participated in “Paintings of Russian masters Exhibition” in Amsterdam, was one of the arrangers of “Russian artists exhibition” in d’Alignan gallery. Lived in Stockholm from 1939. Levi’s artworks are exposed in State Literature Museum (Moscow), in French, Sweden and Finnish museums.
