Monoszon Abram Isaakovich

Monoszon Abram Isaakovich (1914, Mogilev - 1980, Moscow).

In 1943 he entered Textile Institute in Moscow, and became a student of A. Kuprin and V. Eiges. Kuprin introduced him into the Jack of Diamond tradition of painting, while Eiges made him accustomed with the Jewish figurative tradition. He belonged to the diaspora of the Russian Jewish artists who developed traditions founded by Ieguda Pen and Marc Chagall, merging reality with fantasy, subjects from Torah with contemporary life. Starting from 1949, he actively participated in Moscow City and All-Union art exhibition. He exhibited together with the artists like M.P. Konchalovsky, P.P. Sokolov-Skalia, P.A. Rodimov, N.A. Sokolov, G.G. Nissky. His pictures are in private collections in Russia, France, USA, Italy, and Israel.
