Meshkov Vassili Vassilievich (1893-1963).
Full member of USSR Arts Academy, Laureate of the Stalin Prize of 1951 for serial of landscapes “Kama” Son of famous Russian painter V.N. Meshkov, first studied form his father, then at the Moscow Painting, Sculpture and Architecture School (1909-1917).
Master of theme industrial pictures, landscapes painter, was working a lot at the theater. Starting with the second half of the 1930’th was working at creation of panoramas, dioramas and exhibition panels. Member of AHRR. Participant of exhibitions since 1907. Since 1916 till 1923 was taking part at the Mobile Art Exhibitions, and since 1923 till 1926 – at the AHRR exhibitions. In 1916 was held the personal exhibition of V.N. and V.V. Meshkov. Personal exhibitions of the Artist were held in Novossimirsk (1929), in Moscow, at the Central Military and Historical Museum (1941) and in Venice (1956).
Works of Meshkov were exposed at the international exhibition in Brussels (1958).
The wors are kept in the Tretiakov State Gallery, the State Russian Museum and other home museums
