Meshkov Vasiliy Nikitich

Russian Soviet painter and graphic artist. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1943). Doctor of Arts, Professor of the Academy of Arts of the USSR. He studied at MUZHVZ (1882-1889) in IM. Pryanishnikova, V.D. Polenov, and in the Academy of Arts (1889-1890). Lived and worked in Moscow. He taught in his own studio (1892-1917), Moscow VHUTEMAS (1922-1923), AH (1937-1940). Member of the MTX and AHRR (since 1922). The author's works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery and in many museum collections.
