Mazurin German Alekseevich BORN 1932

Soviet and Russian artist, illustrator of many editions of children's and youth literature. Professor of the book workshop of the Surikov Art Institute. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Since 1958 - participant of art exhibitions, Soviet, Russian and international. Personal exhibitions were held in such cities as Moscow, Budapest, Penza, Vienna, Amsterdam, Zhengzhou (China). As an illustrator, he designed more than 300 books. Among them: A. Chekhov "Kashtanka", P. Lagin "Old Man Hottabych", Mark Twain "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer", A. Kuprin "Elephant", A. Tolstoy "Hyperboloid of Engineer Garin" and "Aelita". Based on his drawings, 14 filmstrips were created, including works by Korney Chukovsky, Sergei Mikhalkov, Agniya Barto, Anatoly Aleksin, Valentin Kataev, Otfried Preusler, Oktava Pankuyash, Pierre Godard and other famous authors. Works by G.A. Mazurin are kept in museums and private collections in Russia, the USA, China, Holland, Italy, Austria and other countries.
