Otto Van Veen

Otto Van Veen (1556, Leiden - 1629, Bruxelles).

One of the largest Flemish masters of mannerism. Studied at the art studio of Izaak of Class Svanenbyurg in Leiden till 1572, then in art studios of D.Lampsony and J. de Ramey in Liege. During 1575-1583 worked in Rome where his creative development was influenced by Frederico Tsuccaro, Ludovico Cigoli. During 1584-1585 lived in Cologne and worked by performing the orders of Ernest Bavarsky. In 1585 worked as a court artist of Alexander Farneze in Brussels. Had a large studio where Rubens was training during 1594-1598. Since 1612 worked in Brussels as a court master of archducal couple. His works are in many large museums of Antwerp, Brussels other countries of Europe and the USA.
