Pryanishnikov Illarion Mikhailovich

Pryanishnikov Illarion Mikhailovich (1840, v. Timashevo, nowadays Kaluga Region – 1894, Moscow).

Russian genre painter, full member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1893). During 1856-1866 studied at Moscow College of Arts, Sculpture and Architecture under E.S. Sorokin and S.K. Zaryanko. Founder of the Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions. During 1873-1894 taught at Moscow University of Art, Sculpture and Architecture. His pupils were V.K. Byalynitskiy-Birulia, S.V. Ivanov and K.A. Korovin. The artist's works can be found in the State Tretyakov Gallery and many other museum collections.
