Rokhlina Vera N. (1896, Moscow - 1934, Paris).

Vera Rokhlina (Rokline) studied in Moscow. In 1918 – 1919 she participated in the 24th exhibition of the Moscow Society of Artists, the 2nd exhibition of the Art Painters Labor Union, the Fifth State ‘Impressionism to Non-Figurativeness’ exhibition. From 1919 to 1920 she lived in Tiflis, until she emigrated to France in 1921 where she took French citizenship. In Paris, Vera Rokline participated in shows such as Salon d’automne (1922, 1927-1931), Tuillery (1927, 1929-1932) and Salon d’Echange (1934).
She had her personal exhibitions at Vildrac (1925), La Boetie (1930), and Barreiro (1932, 1933) art galleries. In 1933 Vera Rokline joined the artist department of the Union of Russian Art Workers in France. In 1935 her works were shown in the Femmes Artistes Modernes exhibitions. A retrospective exhibition of Vera Rokline’s pictures took place in 1975 in Paris. Her works were sold in many auctions throughout the world including Sotheby`s and Christie`s. Some of Vera Rokline’s pictures are in a number of big museums, in private collections in Russia and abroad.
