Sokolov (presumably) Nikolai Alexandrovich (1903-2000)

Painter, graphic artist, caricaturist. People's Artist of the USSR. Laureate of the Lenin Prize, five Stalin Prizes, the State Prize of the USSR and the State Prize of the RSFSR named after I. E. Repin. Member of the creative team "Kukryniksy". In 1923 - 1929 he studied at the printing department of the Higher Art and Technical Workshops (VKHUTEMAS), where his teachers were N. N. Kupreyanov, P. V. Miturich, P. I. Lvov and P. Ya. Pavlinov. He is known as the author of cartoons and cartoons on topics of domestic and international life, as well as illustrations for books created in a cartoon style. The artist’s paintings are in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, private collections and galleries in Russia, Ukraine, England, France, Italy, Germany and other countries.
