Fokin Nikolay Mikhailovich (1869 - 1908).
Nikolay Fokin was an outstanding artist who excelled in painting Northern Russia’s landscapes. He studied at the Russian Academy of Arts from 1891 to 1896 under А. Kiselev. In 1902 for his picture Early Snow he was awarded the title of painter. At the St. Louis World Fair Fokin’s picture The Silence of Autumn won a medal. He participated in exhibitions of the Academy of Arts and the New Association of Artists, which he was a founding member of. A posthumous exhibition of Nikolay Fokin’s works in 1909 was sponsored by the New Association of Artists. The artist’s works are in the State Russian Museum, the Academy of Arts Museum, and in private collections in Russia and abroad.
