Shifrin Nisson Abramovich

Shifrin Nisson Abramovich (1892 – 1961).

Member of the People's Union of Artists of the USSR (since 1932), Laureate of two Stalin Prizes (1949, 1951). He received his artistic education at A. Murashko's school in Kyiv, returned to A. Exter's studio after studying at the Academy of Arts in Kyiv. Member of associations: "Ring" (1914), "Cult League" (1917-20) in Kyiv. During his studies, he designed for a Futurist concert in Kyiv.. In 1920 he painted the propaganda train on the Polish front. From 1923 to 1933, N. Shifrin was engaged in theatrical activities, designed an exhibition (1922, 1st agricultural), a performance, was fond of book graphics and easel painting. Member of the "OST" society (1925-1931), takes part in all four exhibitions of the association. Participated in exhibitions: Artistic and handicraft exhibition of the USSR (1929, New York), contemporary Russian art (Vienna, 1930), Soviet art in Berlin (1930), The first exhibition of fine arts of the USSR (1930, Stockholm, Oslo, Berlin), International Exhibition of the Arts of the Book (1931, Paris) (1932, Lyon), Exhibition of Soviet Art (1932, Koenigsberg), as well as world exhibitions in Paris (1937) and New York (1939 g.), exhibitions of the society "OST" (1925-1931). Personal exhibitions 1953, 1962 Moscow.
