His exhibition “The Oka Land of Russia” will almost be fully devoted to landscape genre, upon which the master has been working during all his creative development. It accentuates works created by the artist during the past several years. Besides the Oka landscapes one may enjoy two still lifes fully representing the artist’s creative researches in different genres. The exposition will be opened since December 28th, 2006 through January 10th, 2007. Vistiors will have a chance to see more than 60 works, including new plein air paintings. The artist’s images, ebodied in his creations, are inextricably interwined with the master’s impression of simple and beautiful countryside views. The ever-living source of inspiration was found by Ivanov in Oka settlements near Ryazan. Here the master discovered his freedom, where nothing impeded to search for desired simplicity and harmony of forms reproducing perfection of the material world, which laws directed him in revelation of images, selection of color balance and sketches. Works to be exposed here, reflect the artist's admiration of the Middle Russia nature, which brought his eye and nourished desire to become an artist.
