Crimean artists. The first exhibition in Russia.

Gugo Shaufler, Artem Puchkov, Irina Zaitseva, Viktor Panchenko, Sergey Matyash. Crimean holiday. Gallery «SOVCOM» Opening is on the 24th of March at 20.00. March 25th – April 6th 2011. Moscow, Shepkina st. 28. The fascination of Crimea literally brings magical energy and appeal of charms. Any visitor who enters the ancient land of Taurica becomes a prisoner of its enchantment. This place enraptures everyone, and especially artistic souls. Just remember, how desirable was staying in local “Houses of Creativity” and how many artists and writers wanted to come here. What a wonderful works of literature and art were created here! Sunny landscapes by Korovin and epic works of Vasiliev. Lyrical texts by Konstantin Paustovskiy and Alexander Grin. But particularly strong influence Crimea had on the native artists: I.K.Aivazovskiy, K.F.Bogaevskiy, and M.Voloshin. All those significant for Russian culture names are first of all associated with Crimea. Five Crimean masters who are going to show their works in Moscow (It is Gugo Shaufler, Artem Puchkov, Irina Zaitseva, Viktor Panchenko, Sergey Matyash) follow these great traditions. But all of them also reveal a completely new optics of artistic outlook in which the fusion of modernity and cultural layers contributes to individuality and singularity of each. These qualities together with a skill make all of artists interesting not only as “school” representatives (in this case we can only talk about regional “school” because of the differences in creative challenges and thinking, accomplishments) but also as a part of international art community. That’s why the “track record” of each includes participation in many international exhibitions and their works are displayed in galleries and kept in collections all around the world.
