Salesroom “Sovcom” has been preparing for its “Triumph” for a long time, for nearly two years. There would be presented the most reputable masterpieces of the Russian Art, valued in accord with the global standards. All in all there would be 200 lots of art, graphics, porcelain, sculpture; top lots are mainly in the art, though graphics is also of a choice quality. Aleksandr Deineka and Aleksandr Samokhvalov are the main forms of the fore-coming sales. Aleksandr Samokhvalov became famous thank to his heroes of a labour and sport portraits – “A girl in a shirt“ and “A girl with a mole ball” will be presented on the sale with the “Portrait of a pilot“ (1933). His pilot is a specific contrast to powerful, strong and having a renaissance beauty girls; he’s slim and nervous. He is depicted sidewise on the background of the ribbed plane body with his shrewd eye, looking for enemies. This picture partially reflects influence of the Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin, who was the teacher of the Aleksandr Samokhvalov. The portrait is valued at $500,000-800,000. “Running girls” of Aleksandr Deinika are also ‘ready for labour and defense’. Utopially perfect, of the golden hair and strong bodies, the run splashing the water on the background of the coal carriages. The picture is created in 1941, and is the authorly variant of the canvas “During dinner in Donbass” of 1935, the only difference is that there are boys depicted on the latter. Group of girls is portrayed by the artist using the sketch that later he used one more time in the post-war picture “Happy hunting ground”. This canvas is evaluated in $600,000-800,000.
