Avrutis C.A. Chaim Avraamovich

Graphic artist, painter, film strip artist, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Born in the Kiev region, in the village of Baryshevka. From 1933 he studied in Moscow, at the art studio of N.V. Sinitsyn (1937-1940), at the Moscow Secondary Art School (1940-1947) in the class of V.V. Pochivalov, and then at the Moscow Art Institute. V.I.Surikov (1947-1953). In 1954 he moved to Novosibirsk, where he worked mainly in the portrait genre (the Theorists series, etc.). At the turn of the 50-60s. joined the so-called "severe style", which is usually characterized by a dark color and expressive heavy brushstroke. At the same time, he worked on children's book illustrations and taught.Illustrated children's books: "The Adventures of Jacone" by Y. Magalif and "Bambi" by F. Zalten (1958), "Grandfather's Tales" by E. A. Chersky (1959), "My Friend Sparrow" by L. I. Davydychev (1960), " Masters of the taiga "by GF Kungurov (1963), a collection of tales of the peoples of Siberia about animals" Children of the beast of Maana "(1988), etc. In the 1960s. became one of the masters defining the face of the Novosibirsk fine arts. In 1967 he moved to Vladimir, from 1971 he lived and worked in the city of Troitsk, Moscow Region. In 1995 he left for Israel, where he settled in the city of Safed.
