Artist. He studied at Vhutein with F.F. Fedorovsky. Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR (1974). Works in the cinema since 1939. He has designed over 50 films. Of the most significant - “Andrei Rublev”, “Office Romance”, “The Fate of Man”, “Zigzag of Fortune”. Laureate of the USSR State Prize in the field of cinema, 1973
