Golts Georgy Pavlovich (1893 – 1946)

Architect, theater artist. Full member of the USSR Academy of Architecture (1939). Winner of the Stalin Prize, second degree (1941). In 1913 he entered the painting department of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, then in 1914 he transferred to the architecture department. From 1919 to 1922 he studied at VKHUTEMAS with A.N. Ladovsky. In 1924, he began working as a theater designer at the Moscow Children's Theater, where he designed the plays “Nakhodka” (1924), “Robin Hood” (1925), “The Little Negro and the Monkey” (1927), and “Aul Gidzhe” (1929). In 1926 he became a member of the Moscow Architectural Society (MAS) and was a member of the board from 1927 to 1930. Since 1935, head of the Mossovet workshop. In 1943 - 1946, Georgy Golts actively worked on the restoration of Stalingrad, Kyiv, Smolensk, Vladimir, destroyed during the Great Patriotic War.
