Karachentsov Petr Yakovlevich (1907 - 1998)
Soviet artist, graphic artist, poster artist and illustrator. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1967). Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
In 1927 - 1931 he studied at the VKHUTEIN - at the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts under L.A. Bruni, S.V. Gerasimov, D.S. Moor.
In the 1930s - 1980s, he collaborated with the newspapers Pravda, Komsomolskaya Pravda, Izvestia, For Industrialization and with the magazines 30 Days, Rost, Foreign Literature, Yunost, Ogonyok. He painted propaganda posters - anti-bourgeois, anti-religious, anti-fascist, as well as posters on the themes of socialist labor and sports.
He illustrated and designed books for Military Publishing House, the publishing houses “Young Guard”, “Soviet Writer”, “Pravda”.
Since 1944 he worked in the studio of military artists named after M. Grekov.
