Ponyatov Mikhail Osipovich

Soviet painter, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. In 1934 he was enrolled in the first year of painting at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture of the All-Russian Academy of Arts. He studied under V.N. Meshkov, R.R. Frents. Since 1952, he began to participate in exhibitions, exhibiting his works together with the works of leading masters of fine art of Leningrad. He painted mainly landscapes and natural studies, as well as genre paintings. In 1953 he was admitted to the Leningrad Union of Artists. Since July 1953 he worked in the creative group of the Combine of Painting and Design Art of the Leningrad Branch of the Art Fund of the RSFSR. His works are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
