On the 17th of May Sovcom Gallery has opened a pre-auction exhibition of Auction 165, which will take place on the 1st of June at 19.00. More than 190 lots are presented at the auction - graphics, porcelain, mainly of the 20th century, most of which can be found at the exhibition. Among the top lots of the auction are works by Natalia Nesterova, Olga Yanovskaya, Viktor Tsyplakov, Alexander Benois, a selection of porcelain figure, Soviet bronze and caskets.
Among the landscape works put up for sale, particular attention is drawn to the painting by Garry Rudolfovich Franz "Northern Village", painted in 1969. Large-scale work with a multifaceted composition attracts attention with the skill of execution. The author skillfully conveys the mood and atmosphere everyday life of the Soviet northern village. The masterful wide brushstroke brings the canvas to life and is an individual style of Harry Franz.
Several large collections of selected topics will also be represented at the auction. For example, a large string of colorful still lifes by such masters as Fyodor Shapaev, Vladislav Anisovich, Valentina Tsvetkova. The section of children's graphics is presented by the wonderful works of Klara Kalinycheva, Vladimir Yudin, Vladimir Serov. The extensive sports section includes paintings and sculptures by famous Soviet authors.
In addition to the above works, the genre of theatrical sketches is represented by the works of Alexander Benois, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky and Yuri Annenkov. Some unique pieces of porcelain, decorative and applied art are also shown, among which Fedoskino's lacquer caskets occupy a special place.
A true rarity of the upcoming auction is the archives of the architect Boris Iofan. Autographs of famous Soviet pop and theater artists (Arkady Raikin, Maris Liepa, Elena Kamburova, Klavdiya Shulzhenko, Marcel Marceau, etc.) are also part of the auction.
The auction will be traditionally completed by nonconformists (Viktor Pivovarov, Ernst Neizvestny, D. Krasnopevtsev, N. Nesterova) and contemporary authors (Dashi Namdakov, Dmitry Shorin, Farid Bogdalov).
