Pre-auction exhibition "Russian and Soviet art" from September 18th through October 18th, 2017.

Our exhibition before the forthcoming auction isn’t limited only to the lots already presented to the bidders, we have extended it with the works of fine art that, in our opinion, excite greatest interest from our clients and collectors. There is a total of more than 200 works represented on our exhibition.

The auction includes four segments: Russian and Soviet classical and graphic arts; Soviet sculpture, porcelain and bronze; nonconformists and contemporary painters.

Landscape painting is represented in a broad variety of styles: Dmitrii Nalbandyan and Pavel Sokolov-Skalia, Vladimir Stozharov and Aleksey Gritsay. We also offer up an outstanding collection of still-life paintings — anything from pieces befitting a museum to exquisite watercolour paintings.

Traditionally, we’ll dedicate one segment of our auction to landscapes of Moscow and Saint-Petersburg captured between 1950s and 1970s.

In “Soviet sculpture” segment we shall offer small scale sculptures created from plaster cast, bronze and metal over the period of 1920s to 1990s. In our collection you’ll find the works of such outstanding artists as: I.D. Shard, N.V. Tomski, M.K. Anikushin, E.A. Yanson-Manizer, B.I. Urmanche, V.A. Evdokimov, T.M. Sokolova and other famous Soviet sculptors.

Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to bronze sculptures of E.A. Yanson-Manizer who made mostly ballet and sport themed works. You can rarely discover her works on antique markets, most of them are part of Russian large museums’ collections. We have accomplished to collect a whole segment consisting of famous collections.

Sculpture by T.M. Sokolova A girl sitting on a stool, 1977  immediately grasps your attention. Its sculptor has managed to make only two moldings of this work, and the second of which is located in the State Russian Museum and duplicates the auctioned one to the finest details.

We also have on display rare original floor vases made of porcelain. One of them was made to be presented to Leonid Brezhnev and since the beginning of the 1970s it remains an exclusive piece.

Among nonconformists painters and our contemporaries, presented on the exhibition and taking part in the auction are: N.I. Nesterova, N.E. Vechtomov, V.I. Yakovlev, V.G. Weisberg, Yu. S. Zlotnikov and many others.
