On the 1 of February , the Sovcom Gallery opens a pre-auction exhibition of Auction 170, which will take place on February 22 at 19.00. The auction will feature over 150 lots - objects of painting, graphics, porcelain, mainly of the 20th century, most of which will be available at the exhibition.
Among the top lots of the auction are works by Leonid Melnikov, Dmitry Krasnopevtsev, Yakov Khaimov, Boris Iofan, Viktor Popkov, Pierre Montezin, a selection of porcelain figures and posters.
One of the masterpieces of the exhibition and the upcoming auction is a painting by Dmitry Mikhailovich Krasnopevtsev "Still life with flower pots" 1973. On the canvas presented at the auction Krasnopevtsev shows himself as a master of the image of "metaphysical still life".
Particular attention in the February auction deserves a canvas by Leonid Kuzmich Melnikov called "Sevastopol Bay". The work is a true confirmation that Melnikov is one of the brightest masters of the seascape.
It should be noted also the work of Enar Georgievich Stenberg - "Sketch of the scenery for theatrical performance". The son of Georgy Stenberg, the chief artist of the Maly Theater, the artist shows himself as an expert in the theatrical and decorative genre.
The top lots of the future, one hundred and seventieth auction in the history of the Auction House Sovcom, which is also presented at the exhibition in the gallery, cannot but include a large canvas - 60x73.7 - by Pierre Montesin, a famous French impressionist.
The pre-auction exhibition will be held from 1 to 20 jf February at st. Shchepkina, 28.
