The Sovcom Gallery opens in its building the exhibition which can be called “ The brothers Tkchevs and their school”, People’s Artists of USSR, academicians Alexey and Sergey Tkachevs- the most famous landscape painters of the second half of the 20th century.
Sergey Petrovich for a long time headed the Artists Union of RSFSR in 1970-1980. The both brothers more than 30 years head the studio of painting of the Russian Academy of Arts. During these years the whole pleiad of artists were grown up there, People’s and Honored Artists of Russia. The works of these artists as well as the works of the masters – the brothers Tkachevs are presented at the exhibition at the Sovcom Gallery. The brothers offered for the exhibition and for the following auction that will take place at the 8th of April the works of the late period. The earliest is the landscape “Mlevo village”(78 x78) painted in 1989. It is estimated for 25-28 thousand dollars. Village genre “Summer” (80 x 110; 1998) becomes the most expensive lot of the auction: it is estimated for 35-38 thousand dollars. Practically so high is estimated a recent work “ Spring rein” (85 x 85; 2004), it is estimated for 30-33 thousand dollars.
Among the graduating students of the Tkachevs’ studio whose works will be presented at the sales at the auction at the 8th of April, we can point out a Honored artist of Russia N. Zaytsev (6 lots), People’s artist of Russia D. Beliukin (3), a famous kolomna landscape painter, honored artist of Russia M. Abakumov 95). With several works are presented the honored artist like M. Poletaev, N. Gorskiy-Chernyshev, Y. Orlov, and A. Gerasimov.
It is necessary to point out one more advantage of the coming auction. It will be fully charitable. All money goes form the sale of the pictures, as underlines the organizers of the auction will be passed to the artist.
