The next SOVCOM Art Gallery bids will take place Wednesday, October 4th. It is worth to pay attention to regularity of SOVCOM bids: the previous ones were on September 20th, and just in a fortnight the next bids will start. “Why not to hold bids, if it is in great demand?” – say SOVCOM officials.
The forthcoming bids will include 156 lots of picturesque works created by regional artists. Pictures by masters of Petersburg school are of particular interest. Such works as “Gaydar with Pioneers” by A. Pushnin (180x280) estimated at $18.000-19.000, “The Morning” (110x115; $10.000-11.000) by E. Khokhlovkina, “I.V. Michurin with Students”(128x142; $14.000-14,500) by P. Kotov, as well as “The Autumn” by V. Bialynitskiy-Birulia (70x50; $17.000-18.000) and F.Reshetnickov’s well-meant caricature of the sculptor S. Konenckov called “The Nugget” (86x130; $10.500-11.000). Besides large Soviet-pictures visitors will have opportunity to see B. Rybchenckov’s lyrical landscapes, estimated from $700-800 to $1200-1400. These are N. Fedosov’s “Nickitsky Monastery” estimated at 3800-4000, M. Birshteyn’s “Koktebel” at $4800-500 and “The Landscape with Fishermen” at $5000-5500, S. Gerasimov’s two “Summer Landscapes” at $12-13.000, an early work by rarely exposing V. Stozharov “Pushkin and the Bronze Horseman” at $12-14.000
