April Aaron Isaakovich (1932-2020).
Famous Soviet and Israeli painter, graphic artist and sculptor. In 1949-1951 he studied at the Moscow State Art College in memory of 1905. In 1960, Aaron April graduated from the Moscow State Art Institute. named after V.I. Surikov. Participated in the Moscow, Republican and All-Union exhibitions since 1958. In 1972, the artist decided to emigrate to Israel. He taught painting, drawing and composition in the universities of Haifa and Jerusalem. Was elected Chairman of the Board of the Association of Artists and Sculptors. Later, Aaron April held solo exhibitions in Israel, Germany, France, Switzerland, Canada, the USA, Russia. In 2001, April was awarded the "For Special Merit in the Development of Art" prize of the Ish-Shalom Foundation. In 2005, the artist was elected an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts. April's personal exhibitions were held in leading museums, including the State Tretyakov Gallery.
