Bazhbeuk-Melikyan Laviniya Aleksandrovna (1922).

Soviet, Russian and Armenian artist, full member of the Russian Academy of Arts, People's Artist of the Armenian SSR. In 1944 she graduated from the Art School named after P. Terlemezyan in Yerevan, and in 1951 the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. After graduation, she worked on a mosaic panel in the Moscow metro under the guidance of the USSR People’s Artist P. D. Korin. The artist painted landscapes of Armenia, pictures from the life of Armenian peasants; In recent years, she worked mainly in the studio, creating portraits of artist friends, self-portraits, still life, which art critics consider the pinnacle of her work. Awarded the silver medal of the USSR Academy of Arts (1981).
