Buranov Nikolay Alekseevich (1920 - 1991)

Soviet painter, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. In 1937-1939 he studied at the Sverdlovsk Art School. After the third year, he was drafted into the Red Army, where he served until the end of the Great Patriotic War. After demobilization, he returns to study. After graduating from college, he works in Serov in the Palace of Culture as a graphic designer. In 1954 he entered the painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin, from which he graduated in 1960 in the workshop of I. Serebryany. After defending his diploma, he studied at the creative workshop of Boris Ioganson. In 1962 he was accepted as a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists. Participated in exhibitions since 1960, exhibiting his works together with the works of the leading masters of the fine arts of Leningrad. He painted genre paintings, landscapes, still lifes. He worked at the creative base of Leningrad artists in Staraya Ladoga. The works of N. A. Buranov are in museums and private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Japan, France, Great Britain and other countries.
