Vereshchagin Vasili Petrovich (1835-1909).

Born in Perm. Studied in Perm with father P.P. Vereshchagin, grandfather I.V. Babin and A.U. Orlov; at Imperial Academy of Arts 1857-61. Active in St. Petersburg (in France and Italy 1863-69). Began exhibiting 1860. Member of MOLKh. Exhibited with Society of Russian Watercolourists; St. Petersburg Society of Artists. Taught at Imperial Academy of Arts 1869-94. Also a church muralist, theatre artist. His works are exhibited in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, regional museums, as well as in many private collections.
