Korolyov Gennady Georgievich

Korolyov Gennady Georgievich (1913, Noginsk – 1995, Moscow).

Honoured Artist of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation (1994). Doctor of Arts, professor since 1965. He graduated in 1945 from the V.I. Surikov Moscow Art Institute, where S. Gerasimov, V. Pochitalov, and N. Maksimov were his teachers. In 1950, he made his PhD in art criticism and proceeded to teach at the V.I. Surikov Moscow Art Institute, where he was a teaching assistant to D. Mochalsky. He became associate professor in 1952 and full professor in 1965. Gennady Korolyov and worked in Moscow, specializing in landscapes, portraits and genre paintings. He participated in exhibitions such as the All-Union Art Exhibition (Moscow 1946), and Soviet Russia (Moscow 1960). Korolyov’s works are in art museums of Russia (Samara, Saratov), Yugoslavia, and Greece, as well as in private collections in France, Korea, Japan, USA, and Germany.
