Kapkanets Tamara Nikitichna

Studied at Kharkov State Art Institute (1939-1941), then at Kiev State Art Institute (1941-1946) under M.G. Deregus, K.N. Eleva. Since 1952 regularly participated in exhibitions. Gave lessons at Voroshilovgrad Art College (since 1948). Created subject pictures, such as “Session of Lugansk Council of Working Deputies in 1905”, (1955) and “Brigade of Communists Labour” (1960) – the team work co-authored by M.M. Shevchenko; “In the New Quarter” (1961), “Women’s Burden” (1964), “Farewell” (1975), “The Dream” (1972), “The Song Over Fields” (1979) and a series of portraits including “The Cook” (1954), “The Milkmaid” (1955); landscapes – “Road to the Forest” (1953), “Father’s Garden” (1974), “The Crimean Landscape” (1954). The master’s works are represented in Lugansk Regional Art Museum, as well as in private collections.
