People's Artist of Russia, member of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists, portrait painter, genre painter.
In 1952, Boris Lavrenko graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin under the mastership of Professor Rudolf Frentz.
Lavrenko has participated in exhibitions since 1936. Personal exhibitions of the artist were held in Leningrad (1972, 1986), Moscow (1972), Rostov-on-Don (1972), St. Petersburg (1996).
Boris Lavrenko since 1954 taught at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I. E. Repin.
The works of B. M. Lavrenko are in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, in numerous museums and private collections in Russia, France, Great Britain, China, the USA, Japan, Germany, Italy and other countries.
