Moravov Alexander Viktorovich

Moravov Alexander Viktorovich (1878, Velikaya Motovilovka village, now in Kiev Oblast – 1951, Moscow).

Honored art worked of the RSFSR (1946), acting member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1949). Studied at Moscow College of Arts, Sculpture and Architecture (1897-1902) under A.E. Arkhipov, N.A. Kasatkin. Member of Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions (since 1904) and Association of Revolutionary Russian Artists (since 1923). Developed traditions of the itinerary subject painting devoted to peasant life; his works dated Soviet times are distinguished by new village life. His works can b found in the State Tretyakov Gallery.
