Pieter van Bloemen

Pieter van Bloemen (1657, Antwerp – 1720, Antwerp).

Studied under Simon van Dauva in Antwerp. Elder brother of Jan Frans and Norbert van Bloemens. Since 1673 – master of Antwerp Guild of St. Luke, in 1699 became its Dean. During 1688-94 worked in Rome. Peter van Bloemen is known as a typical representative of the Italianized trend of the Flemish painting dated early 18th century. His artworks can be found in museums of Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Madrid, Edinburgh and Vienna.
