Rabin Alexandr Oscarovich (born in in 1951, Lianozovo).
Son of Oscar Rabin and Valentina Kropivnitskaya and nonconformist artist.
Alexandr Rabin was arrested on September 15, 1974 after organizing an open-air art exhibition in Moscow together with a number of other artists. Since 1978, he has lived and worked in France.
Alexandr Rabin participated in a number of exhibitions such as the First and the Second open-air exhibitions (both 1974, Moscow), the Exhibition of Moscow nonconformist artists (1975, in an exhibition hall at the Exhibition of Economic Achievements, Moscow), Nonkonformistische russische Maler, Sammlung Alexander Gleser (1975, Kunstamt Charlottenburg, West Berlin, and 1976, Kunstverein, Esslingen, West Germany), Exposition au Musée Russe en Exil (1976, Mongeron, France), and Religious Movements in the USSR (1976, Parkway Focus Gallery, London, Great Britain).
The artist’s works are in Museum Ludwig (Cologne) and in Nancy and Norton Dodge’s collection.
