Radlov Nikolai Ernestovich (1889-1942)

Russian and Soviet art critic, artist, illustrator, teacher. In 1911 he graduated from the Academy of Arts, where he studied with D. N. Kardovsky and E. Lansere. Since 1912, he collaborated with the Apollo magazine, with the New Satyricon, covered the events of the cultural life of Europe and the USA. In 1917, he created the St. Luke's Painter's Workshop society, and later became a professor at the Institute of Art History. In the 1920s, Radlov became interested in satirical graphics. Collaborated with the magazines Begemot, Smekhach, Krokodil. With the beginning of the Second World War, he initiated "Windows TASS" and himself made about 40 posters, which were published in the magazine "Front Humor".
