Chirkov Sergei Ivanovich

Professor, painter. Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Union of Artists of the USSR. Exhibition of young southern groups of Soviet troops, held in Germany (1946). Studied at the Moscow State Art Institute. IN AND. Surikov at the graphic faculty (1948-1954). From 1956 to 1994 he taught drawing at the Institute. Surikov, including in the workshop of V. G. Tsyplakov, was the dean of the painting faculty, professor of the drawing department. Later, for several years he worked as Deputy Minister of Culture of the RSFSR. In 1985, at the initiative of the artist, the first rural art gallery in the Vladimir region was created in his native village of Panfilovo.
