Shagin Vladimir Nickolayevich

Shagin Vladimir Nickolayevich (1932, Leningrad – 1999, Petersburg).

Artist. Belonged to the Leningrad Group of Recusant Artists of 1950-60-ies. (“Arefyev’s circle”). Studied at Academy of Arts. Was expelled for his “formalism”. The artist’s one-man shows took place in Leningrad-Petersburg (1981, 1999, 2000). The works are represented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum and Pompidou Centre in Paris.
