Yakovlev Valentin Alexandrovich

Painter and graphic artist. Born in Krasnoslobodsk, Penza province. In 1906 he entered MUZhVi3. Began to be friends with I.I. Zakharov. Participated in exhibitions since 1907. In 1908 he published the monthly magazine Lebed. One of the organizers and a member of the Board of the Society of Artists "Moscow Salon". Participated in all, except the last, exhibitions of the Moscow Salon. In 1917 he was elected a delegate from the Moscow Salon to the professional Union of Moscow Artists. He was a member of the 1st State Labor Commune of Artists, the art group "EOS". He taught at the art studio of A.E. Miganadzhian on Myasnitskaya street. In 1918, after an exacerbation of tuberculosis, he left for Altai, and then for Omsk. He painted portraits, compositions on mythological and oriental subjects, still lifes. The artist's works are in the art museums of Voronezh, Omsk and in private collections.
