Description:
The sculpture that is exhibited in the auction is a model of the monument of the same name, which is established in St. Petersburg. The monument is 190 cm in hight and is made out from bronze. A.S. Charkin made the character of Ostap Bender look similar to Sergei Jurassic, who played the role of Beder in 1968 in the movie called “Golden Calf”. The sculpture of Bender is dressed in the famous scarf, cap and jacket. He stands with his head held high, leaning with his left hand on the chair of the work of the master Gambs - this chair was the purpose of his hunt in the novel "The Twelve Chairs". His right hand is holding a file with a dossier on an underground millionaire A. Koreyko from the novel "The Golden Calf". The monument is made in a way that anyone can sit down on the chair and take a picture with this well know character. Monument to Ostap Bender is placed in St. Petersburg on the Italian Street in the Central District of the city.
