Borodin Anatoly Vladimirovich Vladimirovich (1935 – 2018).
Soviet and Russian graphic artist. Honored Artist of Russia. Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts.
He graduated from the Moscow Printing Institute in 1959, where he studied with A. D. Goncharov, P. G. Zakharov, G. T. Goroshchenko. The artist’s diploma work was illustrations for the chronicle collection “The Tale of Bygone Years”.
In 1960 he joined the Union of Artists of the USSR.
Corresponding member of PAX since 1997, elected full member of the Russian Academy of Arts in 2007. In 1999 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
In 2000, for a series of engravings dedicated to Moscow, Borodin was awarded a prize from the Moscow City Hall.
The artist’s works are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Museum of Fine Arts. A. S. Pushkin, the State Russian Museum and other museums, as well as in private collections.
