Forin (presumably) Jean-Louis (1852 - 1931)

French artist, graphic artist, book illustrator. Member of the French Academy of Fine Arts (1923) and the British Royal Academy (1931). He began his career as a cartoonist. He worked for several Parisian magazines, including Le Monde Parisien and Le rire satirique. Later he studied at the Higher School of Fine Arts with Carpeaux and Jerome. The first personal exhibition took place in 1890 at the Theo van Gogh Gallery. The author's works are presented in many major museums around the world.
