Mellin Vadim Alexandrovich (1914–1970)

Soviet artist-painter. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Participant of numerous exhibitions. Laureate of the USSR State Prize. From 1925 to 1930 he studied in the studio of the artist E.A. Steinberg in Sevastopol. In 1932 - 1938 he studied at the Moscow Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov with N.P. Krymov, A.A. Deineki, S.V. Gerasimov. For many years he headed restoration work in the Moscow Kremlin. Since 1966 - member of the permanent commission of the board of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR for the protection of historical and cultural monuments. The artist’s works are in the collections of Russian museums, as well as in private collections.
