Borovskii David Borisovich (1926–2004).
The famous master graphic artist from Leningrad. He studied at the State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Repin (USSR Academy of Arts), where he was a student of L.I. Rudakov and V.M. Konashevich. (1952). He gained fame after he made a design for the story by I.S. Turgenev "Spring torrents". The participant of all-Union and international exhibitions of Soviet graphics in Poland, the GDR, Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria. In 1954 the Tretyakov Gallery included several of his works in the permanent exhibition of the Soviet department. In 1990, the artist goes entirely to the painting technique. The main themes of his works are - ballet, portrait, landscape, childhood. The works of D. Borovskii are kept in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum.
