Grigoriev Sergey Alekseevich (1910, Lugansk - 1988, Kiev).
Soviet painter and graphic artist. People's Artist of the USSR (1974). Full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1958). Laureate of two Stalin Prizes of the second degree (1950, 1951). He studied at the Zaporizhzhya art and professional school (1923-1926), at VKhUTEMAS in the workshop of V. A. Favorsky (1926-1927), KGHI (1928-1932) with F. G. Krichevsky. In 1947 he was appointed professor, head of the department of drawing at the KHI.
1951—1955 - Rector of the Kiev Art Institute and the head of the workshop of genre painting of the KGHI. The artist’s creativity has been studied in various publications, essays, and articles. Many monographs have been published. The author's works are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, many regional museums and in private collections.
